Art Is Good Therapy - 'Under the Sea'

TAGG  has been commissioned by Shenandoah Memorial Hospital to design and paint a mural for its Pediatric Therapy Room. Children coming to Valley Health Rehabilitation Services at the hospital will delight in the “Under the Sea” theme.

“This is a wonderful joint effort and a privilege for our artists to create something, not only with aesthetic value, but also fun for the young patients who are coming to rehab for therapy,” states Kay Ely-Pierce, coordinator for the project.

The therapists believed that creating a space that was inviting, interesting and soothing for the children would enhance the therapeutic benefits of their therapy.
A whimsical mural full of sea creatures, fish, and divers was heartily approved by the Rehab Department.
“The artists had a wonderful intuition about what we were after, something both calming, but stimulating in a positive way,” said Brigetta Stewart, O.T., “The children will love coming to this new magical place!”
