Watercolor can capture the play of light in the atmosphere; this is possible because watercolor is a transparent medium – the whiteness of the paper should show through every color application.

Watercolor painting should not just be a reproduction of a photograph, but the uniqueness of the watercolor medium should be expressed – fluidity and transparency.

I have studied at the Shuler School of Art in Baltimore, the Maryland Institute College of Art, and with the late Richard Morton, listed in “Who’s Who in American Art.”

I am a retired architect from Maryland, and have incorporated my knowledge of buildings into my paintings. Growing up in the Adirondack Mountains, I have a familiarity and love of nature.

I am a member of the Shenandoah Valley Watercolor Society and the Oasis Gallery in Harrisonburg.
