Doris
Miller grew up in Flushing, New York where she started painting at an
early age, being influenced by her artist mother. Later she
attended Hollins University near Roanoke, Virginia, met her future
husband and settled in the lovely Shenandoah Valley.
Doris is primarily a landscape painter and is constantly aware of the
beauty around her where there is never a lack of scenery to
paint. She is vice-president of The Valley Educational Center
for the Creative Arts (VECCA) and an officer in the National League of
American Pen Women. She has participated in numerous shows
and has won many awards.
Her work can also be seen at the 7-East Gallery and the County Office
Building in Woodstock.
