Born in Philadelphia, Ralph Weber majored in art in the Philadelphia school system. He continued his studies at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts for two years before being drafted into the Army. While serving in the military, he was Battalion Artist for the 24th Infantry Division while stationed in Augsburg , Germany.
Later, he developed a love for stone masonry and through this created his own business to raise and support his family. This business was located in Front Royal for many years. Since retiring, he has devoted his time to his life's love of painting - primarily landscapes. Though most of his subject matter originates in the Luray area, his work has been inspired by extensive travels along the Eastern seaboard including much time spent over the years in beautiful Bucks County, PA, and scenic Maine.
Ralph has won numerous awards over the years and has had his work featured in the Philadelphia Enquirer Sunday Supplement in addition to the Trenton Times. His art work is also in private collections from Maine to Louisiana, and in Europe.
Retirement
has afforded Ralph the opportunity to fully pursue his lifelong passion
for expressing the beauty he sees in nature, through his painting.
