Susan was born in the UK and originally trained as a textile artist ,
specializing in contemporary embroidery and fabric manipulation. She was successful in that area for a number of years and that influence still shows itself in the digital and traditional art which she now exhibits.

Many of her works demonstrate her great interest in colour and texture. Her main subjects are nature in all its forms, including many works based on Shenandoah scenery, floral works, and an obsession for many years - carousel horses.

She has been living in Mount Jackson since July 2007 and is married to Charles Oliver, another TAGG member.
